St. Clare was truly St. Francis' partner in Christ.  She was the first female member of the Franciscan community.  She fought against the whole Franciscan community, including popes, to maintain the original Rule of St. Francis.  After his death, she spent the rest of her life caring for her ladies.  She would not even die before her rule for the Poor Clares was approved by the Pope.
Clare is a role model for all women in headship, not exclusively of the Church, but especially of the Church.  She may very well have been placed on this earth to be a prototype for Superiors of Religious Communities, male and female, for centuries to come.  Clare could easily be the standard bearer for anyone who would lead a community of people, whether it be a Religious Community, as Superior, or a country, as President, Dictator, or King.  And her philosophy was not new, or complicated.  It was simple.   "Love one another as I have loved you."

I love your show!  You are so informed on all of the wonderful people, who have served Our Lord through the ages.  They all defended the Faith, and served with their lives for the love of Jesus Christ and the Blessed Virgin Mary.  They  are truly God’s superheroes.
The pilgrimages that you have taken and have shown on your programs have inspired me to want to go on pilgrimages.  Someday, I would love to go to Mexico to visit Our Lady of Guadalupe.  I have seen copy of the tilma of Juan Diego, at a local church here in California.  It was truly beautiful.
Living in California, I have visited some of the California Missions.  I consider that a sort of pilgrimage as well.  I do hope they make Bl. Junipera Serra a Saint soon.  And thank you for clearing up the story that the Franciscan Friars did not force the Chumash Indians into Christianity. That was something I had heard about for so long.  I just did not want to believe that falsehood.
Anyway, thank you again for your wonderful programs, and keep up the great work.

"Padre Pio began to receive what he termed "red patches, about the size of a cent, and accompanied by acute pain."  This is from a letter he sent Padre Benedetto on the Birthday of Mary, September 8, 1911.  He went on to say, "The pain was much more acute in the left hand and it still persists.  I also feel some pain in the soles of my feet."  He told his superior that this had been happening, on and off, for almost a year.  So from the time of Padre Pio's ordination, at twenty three years old, he began to feel in his body, the wounds of the Passion of Christ.  The physical signs disappeared, but the pain continued...."
